Summary of the business trip to Kazakhstan

On 5–10 April 2015, Maxim Osipov, Head of Sales in CIS countries of Izolyator visited Kazakhstan.

 

On 5 April, Murat Botabaev, General Director of ASA-snab LLP and Official Representative of Izolyator in Kazakhstan welcomed Mr. Osipov and discussed further cooperation arrangements in Almaty.

On 6 April, Maxim Osipov visited Alatau Zharyk Kompaniyasy JSC in Almaty to have a meeting with top management of the company.

Alatau Zharyk Kompaniyasy JSC, part of Samruk Energy holding is a large power system in the south of the republic which provides transmission and distribution services to the public, industrial and agricultural companies operating in Almaty and the region. The service area reaches from the lake Balkhash shores out to the Chinese border. AZhK JSC enters the state register of subjects of natural monopoly. AZhK JSC balance inventory includes electric networks of 220, 110, 35, 10, 6 and 0.4 kV voltage classes.

Zhakyp Takenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board on Corporate Development and Construction of Alatau Zharyk Kompaniyasy JSC took part in the meeting and welcomed our representative. The meeting went in friendly atmosphere with only positive comments on Izolyator products: not a single 110 and 220 kV bushing broke during the entire time in operation. The sides discussed long term cooperation plans during the talks.

On 6 April, Maxim Osipov visited The Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas in Almaty.

The Kazakh Institute of Oil and Gas is a daughter organization of National Company “KazMunayGas” JSC. It is positioned as a complex scientific-engineering client oriented company in oil and gas sector of Republic of Kazakhstan. The Institute and its affiliated companies render a wide specter of services in geology, geophysics, exploration and development of oil and gas deposits and hydrocarbons processing. The Institute is an acknowledged leader in design of linear facilities of pipeline transportation of oil and gas and sulfur transportation, storage and utilization systems in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Zhamuikhan Medetov, Director of Energy Center and Andrey Tsitsulnikov, Chief Manager and Chief Project Manager welcomed Izolyator representative.

During the talks, the sides reached a preliminary agreement on Izolyator-made bushings to be designed in the documentation for the next scheduled objects and facilities.

On 7 April, Maxim Osipov visited Tiean-Shan Engineering LLP management in Almaty.

Tiean-Shan Engineering LLP renders a complete range of turn-key services from engineering to production. The company offers solutions for process automation, inventory management and enterprise management with application of the most advanced instrumentation and controls equipment designed for effective use in oil and gas, power, metallurgy, mining and other industries. The company develops complete solutions for process automation and puts them in operation.

Alexey Guryevsky, Commercial Director and Oleg Dobrynin, Director on Regional Projects met with Izolyator representative.

The parties prospected cooperation directions and long term business opportunities.

On 8 April, Maxim Osipov visited KEGOC JSC in Astana where he met with the top management of the company.

Kazakhstan Electricity Grid Operating Company JSC (“KEGOC”) was founded in accordance with the RK Government decree of 28 September 1996 #1188 “On certain restructuring measures of the power grid of the Republic of Kazakhstan”. The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the founder of the KEGOC JSC. The company is the System Operator of the unified power system in the Republic of Kazakhstan. KEGOC JSC branches (Intersystem power networks) maintain the following infrastructure on their balance:

- 353 ETLs of 0.4–1150 kV class. Overall ETL length is 24979.086 km (circuits)

- 77 electric substations of 35–11150 kV class with 36244.55 MVA installed transformer capacity.

The Izolyator representative was welcomed by KEGOC JSC’s:

Baurzhan Arystanov, Director of Operation Department,

Azamat Alimkulov, Chief Manager of Procurement Department,

Nurzhan Kerimkulov, Chief Manager of Substation Operation Department.

The sides had a meaningful dialogue on Izolyator bushings operation issues, and discussed cooperation prospects.

On 8 April, Maxim Osipov visited Power Astana 2015 exhibition.

Kazakhstan’s International exhibition “Power Industry, Electric engineering and machine building” – Power Astana – is the capital’s main venue for demonstrating equipment and technology  in power industry, electric engineering and power engineering industry. Power Astana is a project addressed to the needs of specialists of the northern, western and eastern regions of Kazakhstan. It is officially supported by the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan’s power grid KEGOC JSC, Power Industry Association of Kazakhstan and Electrical Engineers Union.

A number of useful contacts were made at the exhibition including a meeting of Izolyator representative with Mikhail Gustokashin, Transformer-Reactor Equipment Sales Manager of JSC «Energomash (Ekaterinburg) — Uralelectrotyazhmash».

On 10 April, Maxim Osipov visited Aksu Ferroalloys Plant.

Aksu Ferroalloy Plant is the leading metallurgical enterprise in the world for the production of chromium, silicon and manganese alloys. The uniqueness of the enterprise lies in the combination of large-scale production of chromium, silicon and manganese alloys necessary for the production of steels of various grades. The plant comprises ferroalloy smelting shops, electric furnaces, a furnace feed preparation shop, and a sintering plant. Aksu Ferroalloy Plant is a branch of TNK Kazchrome.

Igor Krylov, Deputy Chief Power Engineer welcomed Izolyator representative at Aksu Ferroalloys Plant.

During the talks, the sides agreed on new supplies of Izolyator-made HV bushings.

Overall outcome of the meetings with Kazakhstan’s power men and industrialists during the business trip, includes a number of principal agreements on practical steps to develop a long term and effective cooperation  between Russia and Kazakhstan.
