Federal Grid’s business is to provide electricity transmission and technological connection services. It maintains and develops the grid system and supervises grid facilities and infrastructure in 77 Russian regions, covering a territory of 15.1 million square kilometres. The installation was made as part of replacement program of imported bushings on 500 kV / 220 kV autotransformers of Moscow region substation with Russian made counterparts.
Such type of equipment was not produced in Russia in the past. The autotransformers at 500 kV Beskudnikovo, Ochakovo, Chagino and Kaskadnaya substations will also receive new bushings. The replacement program will continue in 2018.
Oil-SF6 gas high-voltage bushings are used on modern closed-type substations, created on SF6 insulated switchgear. The start of mass production of these bushings in Russia means the country made a step towards securing independence of domestic power industry from imported equipment supplies.
