Participation in the work of the 47th CIGRE Session in Paris

On 26 August 2018, Izolyator involved in the work of the 47th CIGRE Session opened in Paris.

CIGRE

Conseil International des Grands Réseaux Électriques (CIGRE) is the largest international non-profit Association for promoting collaboration with experts from all around the world by sharing knowledge and joining forces to improve electric power systems. Founded in 1921 in France and headquartered in Paris CIGRE is one of the most authoritative and significant international associations which unites scientists and power engineers from all over the world and makes significant impact on the strategy of the electricity industry in many countries. The mission of CIGRE as pertains to ts Charter is to coordinate research, scientific knowledge and practical experience sharing on issues of power networks operation. The issues of design, creation and operation of high-voltage equipment, grids planning and operation, implementation of new technologies for data mining and processing and control systems are in the spotlight. CIGRE activities shape the strategic vision of the power network development needed for selection of energy policy and are closely tied with the vector of scientific and technical progress that defines key directions of integration processes.

Upon completion of registration of participants for the research and engineering agenda of the 47th CIGRE Session, Russia is ranked 6th in the world, after France, Germany, Japan, USA, and UK.

Over 150 delegates from Russia will visit the Session in 2018, which exceeds the figures of the last five CIGRE Sessions. The biggest expert-oriented international event will be attended by chief executives and specialists of the industry's leading enterprises such as: Rosseti, FGC UES, SO UPS, Inter RAO, RusHydro, NP Market Council, RaEl, MOESK, OEK, Lenenergo, Samara Grid Company, R&D Center at FGC UES, NIIPT, VNIIR, Energosetstroyproekt, NRU MPEI, OmSTU, UrFU, NSTU, Skoltech, and others.

The Isolator Company at the Session of CIGRE represent:

  • Alexander Slavinsky - chairman of the Board of Directors/ Representative of Russia in CIGRE Study Committee D1
  • Ivan Panfilov - commercial Director, Deputy CEO
  • Vladimir Ustinov - deputy Director for quality/ coordinator RNC CIGRE Study Committee D1

The list of participants of the Session's research agenda is expanded: Transneft, Solar Security (Rostelecom), Kaspersky Lab, and other companies from allied sectors have joined us.

Traditionally, an active part in the technical agenda is played by the industry's leading Russian manufacturers: Power Machines, RTSoft, Izolyator Company, Togliatti Transformer, Kamkabel, Prosoft-Systems, Elmash, Energoservice, Streamer Electric, IT Energy Service, NPO VEI Elektroizolyatsiya, Elara, Global Insulator Group, etc.

Beside the research program, Russian companies and specialists take an active part in the CIGRE Technical Exhibition, which can be visited without prepaying any registration fee, with attendance not accounted for in the comparative data on delegates listed in the diagram below.

As part of the RNC CIGRE business agenda, 5 agreements will be signed:

  • Quadripartite Agreement between CIGRE NCs of Russia and the Netherlands on regular International Conferences "Digital Substation: IEC standard 61850" on the basis of R&D Center at FGC UES with support of DNV GL (successor of KEMA)
  • RPA equipment localization agreement between GE's Grid Solutions and Elektroapparat JSC
  • Memorandum of Cooperation between Profotech JSC and EFASEC (Portugal)
  • Liaison agreement between R&D Center at FGC UES and Shenyang Transformer Research Institute Co., Ltd. (China) (STRI).
  • JV Memorandum of Izolyator Company (Russia) and Mehru Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (P) Ltd. (India) in India.
