Joint Tests of Bushings for Balakovo NPP
On 14 February 2018, tests of high-voltage bushings went at Izolyator plant. It was a joint activity of Izolyator, Balakovo NPP and VO Safety.
The Balakovo NPP is an acknowledged leader of the Russian nuclear industry. Most (7 out of 8) of the reliability and safety indicators of the Balakovo NPP according to the WANO guidelines are rated higher than worldwide average for NPPs with similar power units. Balakovo NPP is branch of Rosenergoatom Concern.

Acceptance tests of 220 and 500 kV bushings, made with conformity to the third class of safety for Balakovo NPP.

Izolyator was represented by Alexander Novikov, Quality Director, Oleg Bakulin, Director of Partner Relations and Dmitry Ivanov, Head of Test Center, who directly managed the tests.
The tests went in strict correspondence with the program and ended in success, proving Izolyator products conformity to the highest requirements.
First time in the plant history we received experience of production of high-voltage bushings that meet the third class of safety of power equipment for nuclear power plants.
