A New Equipment for Polymer Insulation Making of Bushings Put Into Operation
On 24 October 2018, a new equipment for making of polymer external insulation of bushings, designed by Hübers, was put in operation at Izolyator plant.
Hübers creates technical solutions for casting and impregnation processes requiring maximum precision for electrical engineering and electronics manufacture as well as resins casting makers — from the moment of technological process conception to operation and maintenance of units. Hübers’s offering spreads from storage and conveyor systems via mixing and metering units, degassing equipment, pressure and temperature generating units, casting chambers and moulds to dryers and curing systems. The scope of products ranges from laboratory-scale systems to fully automatic systems for high volume production with programmable logic controls and online quality assurance.
The equipment - permanent-mold casting and filling machines – was installed at the of organosilicone casting station.
Equipment for making of external polymer insulation of bushings at Izolyator plant
Hübers machines have been used at Izolyator plant for over 10 years and proved highly reliable, ergonomic and had a short payback period.
Hübers’s innovative technical solutions for the highest precision and quality of casting processes, were used in design of the equipment.
A complete process automation guarantees a high quality of produced insulation, which requires no further treatment, and a substantial time savings in production cycles. Should any deviations from set parameters be identified, the control system immediately gives an alarm signal and shows a text message to the operator about the fault reasons.
Programming parameters of an automatic polymer insulation making process
Absence of air pockets in the finished product is a key production task for silicone insulation. The traditional handicraft technique of production cannot help to fully avoid defects formation, whose absence is a key factor of product quality. The machine’s main operating principle prevents from air pockets appearance before the casting process begins. The liquid components of the bicomponent liquid silicone rubber (LSR) are preliminarily treated in vacuum in two vacuum dosing mixers, each having an individual dosing pump instead of the traditional primitive extrusion pressing of untreated mass out of barrels.

By lowering pressure inside the filled mold, the technology allows for decreasing surplus material. Consequently, no additional treatment of the items is required for mold flash removal.

The high speed of the process will allow to quickly make even large batches in realization of the outlined production plans.
