International scientific and practical conference on electrical insulating materials

On September 12 to 14, 2023, the Izolyator Group took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Electrical Insulating Materials: Production, Operation, Control, Import Substitution’ and the XXVIII Plenary Meeting of the Council of Diagnosticians of Power Electrical Equipment at the UralEnergoEngineering Center in Kazan.

The Council of Diagnosticians of Power Electrical Equipment at the UralEnergoEngineering Center (Council at UralEnergoEngineering Center) is a public organization operating on a non-profit basis. The key objective of the council is to organize information exchange on the most important problems of power equipment diagnostics with invitation of competent specialists regardless of their departmental affiliation. At the annual plenary meetings of the Council at UralEnergoEngineering Center, both general and strategic trends of diagnostics and problems of diagnosing certain types of electrical equipment are considered. The UralEnergoEngineering Center specializes in works on the assessment of the technical condition of high-voltage power electrical equipment. Izolyator-VV Production Complex of Izolyator Group has been a member of the Council at UralEnergoEngineering Center with a decisive vote since 1994.

The Izolyator Group was also represented by the Director of Moscow Branch of Izolyator Plant, Member of the Council at UralEnergoEngineering Center Vladimir Ustinov and the Head of the Integrated Management System Department, Secretary of the Council at UralEnergoEngineering Center, secretary of the conference organizing committee Mrs. Marina Vladimirova at the conference and plenary meeting of the Council at UralEnergoEngineering Center.

The international scientific and practical conference ‘Electrical insulating materials: production, operation, control, import substitution’ was held by the Council at UralEnergoEngineering Center jointly with the Kazan State Power Engineering University (KSPEU), the Public Council of Diagnosticians for Electrical Facilities of Siberia and Far East with the support of the CIGRE National Study Committee D1 Materials and Emerging Test Techniques (CIGRE NSC D1).

Committee D1 was created and operates on the basis of the Izolyator-VV Production Complex, part of the Izolyator Group, as a permanent collegial body.

Izolyator-VV Production Complex was granted the status of the Leading Scientific and Technical Partner of Russian National Committee of CIGRE with the possibility of extending the agreement every five years.

At the end of the conference, all participants noted the relevance of the information presented on new developments in the technical diagnostics topics; the need to update normative documentation regulating the operation of electrical equipment; supporting domestic manufacturers in the face of sanctions using a production certification tool localized in Russia.

Discussing reports on the sidelines of the conference

More than 100 managers and specialists from generating and power grid companies, manufacturers of electrical equipment and diagnostic devices, and organizations involved in equipment diagnostics, scientists from Russia and Kazakhstan took part in the conference. This is a significant event in the development of science that promotes the exchange of opinions between young and experienced scientists from different regions of the country, and, most importantly, ensures the continuity of generations and maintains the connection between science and practice.

The conference will contribute to improving the process of scientific and technical research and will create incentives for further implementation of scientific developments in organizations operating electrical equipment.

During the conference, the XXVIII plenary meeting of the Council at UralEnergoEngineering Center was held, chaired by the Chairman of the Council, Alexey Utepov. At the meeting, a resulting report on the work of the Council in 2022 and 2023 was heard and the topics, place and timing of the conference and Council meeting next year were discussed.

On the final day of the conference, sightseeing tours of the Tatkabel plant and KSPEU took place.

Tatkabel is one of the largest cable plants in Russia and the largest representative of the electrical engineering cluster of Tatarstan. The company produces the entire range of high-voltage cable products for the needs of power systems in Russia and neighboring countries.
