Visit of the Administration of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electrification of the National Research University ‘Moscow Power Engineering Institute’

On 19 April 2023 the administration of the Institute of Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electrification of the National Research University ‘Moscow Power Engineering Institute’ visited the Izolyator Group.

Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electrification of the National Research University ‘Moscow Power Engineering Institute’ (IEEE of MPEI) was created in 1998 on the basis of two oldest MPEI departments rich in tradition — Electromechanical department and Electrical Equipment and Automation of Industry and Transport department. At IEEE there are bachelors and masters trained in two fields of study: ‘Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering’ and ‘Electronics and Nanoelectronics’, and Candidates of Sciences and Doctors of Science with 6 scientific specializations. National Research University ‘Moscow Power Engineering Institute’ is the one from the largest technical universities of Russia. It provides the specialist’s training and scientific research in the field of energetic, electrical engineering, radio electronics, computer engineering.

The IEEE administration visited the museum of the Izolyator Group and the production site of high-voltage insulating equipment. A set of issues related to the celebration of the upcoming anniversary of IEEE was also discussed.

The guests were invited and received by the Head of the Department of Physics and Technologies of Electrical Materials and Components of IEEE Dr. Alexander Slavinsky.

In the corporate museum the guests got acquainted with the century-long history of the Izolyator plant, which is inextricably linked with the national school of creation and mass production of high-voltage bushings for all large-scale projects of the country's electric power industry development.

In addition, the guests examined samples of innovative products from the enterprises of the Izolyator Group, which form a separate exposition of the museum.

During the tour to the Izolyator Production Complex, all stages of the technological cycle of manufacturing high-voltage bushings were sequentially demonstrated: from providing blanks and machining parts to the upcoming assembly and packaging finished products in shipping containers and preparing them for shipment to the customer.

At the Izolyator-AKS high-voltage cable accessories plant, the guests were presented with the most modern technological equipment and products of the enterprise — 126 to 252 kV cable connectors, cable joints and outdoor terminations.

In addition to the production site, the guests visited facilities specially created for the development of creative abilities and leisure of the employees of the Izolyator Group — an exhibition space and a universal sports hall.

At the end of the visit, the IEEE Administration members highly appreciated everything they saw and thanked Alexander Slavinsky for an interesting and informative tour.
