Experts focus on the results of the 50th Session of the International Council on Large Electric Systems

The 14th of May 2025 the Izolyator Group took part in the reporting conference of the Russian National Committee of CIGRE, dedicated to the results of the 50th CIGRE Session in Paris and held at the Rosseti R&D Center in Moscow.

Russian National Committee of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (RNC CIGRE) as a legal entity was established in 2003. At present the Committee counts over 60 collective and over 460 individual members. RNC CIGRE aims to represent the national interests at CIGRE and to assist in exchanging technical knowledge, experience and feedback in various fields of CIGRE activity for all its members. The most important objective of the committee is attraction of the best Russian power industry companies to scientific and technical cooperation as research base organizations for CIGRE National Study Committees.

Head of the Izolyator Group, CIGRE Study Committee B1 Regular Member, Head of CIGRE National Study Committee D1, Dr. Alexander Slavinsky spoke at the conference with two reviews of the reports of the 50th CIGRE Session:

- on the topic of the Study Committee B1 “Insulated Cables”;

- on the topic of the Study Committee D1 “Materials and Emerging Test Techniques”.

The Izolyator Group was also represented at the conference by:

The conference was chaired by Dr. Andrey Murov, Chairman of RNC CIGRE, First Deputy Director General of the Rosseti Group.

Presidium of the Conference

The event was attended by the heads of the CIGRE RNC and its national research committees, relevant legislative and regulatory bodies, leading expert research and design organizations, energy companies, and manufacturers of electrical equipment.

Conference audience

During the conference, generalized global trends in the development of the electric power industry were presented, and among them, those relevant for Russia were identified.

Experts discussed the results of the 50th CIGRE Session, which was held in Paris in 2024 and became the central event in the activities of the scientific and technical association, uniting power engineers from more than 100 countries.

Discussion of reports

It was noted that at the 50th CIGRE Session, 38 scientific reports from Russia were presented on the impact of digital transformation on asset management systems, new methods of equipment diagnostics, and technological solutions to improve the reliability and efficiency of the electric grid complex.
