On the Day of Memory and Sorrow

On 21 June 2018, Izolyator staff took part in the event, dedicated to the Day of Memory and Sorrow.

They laid flowers to the Monument of the Siberian soldiers in Lenino of Istra district of the Moscow region and honored the memory of all those, who did come back from the Great Patriotic War.

Head of the city district administration of Istra Andrey Dunaev and Head of Istra District Alexander Skvortsov took part in the event.

The monument to the Siberian soldiers in Lenino is one of the most meaningful monuments of the district. It was erected to eternalize memory of the fallen soldiers who protected Moscow. It presents several figures of soldiers who stately stand on the pedestal. One of them is about to spring forward as if prepared to attack the enemy and protect his homeland. Two armies, 26 division, 6 rifle brigades and name list of 19 Siberian warriors awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union in the battle for Moscow.

The tragic date of 22 June 1941 will always stay in the people’s memory as the greatest victory and an example of courage and fortitude of the Soviet people.
