Excursion lesson for students of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute

On May 20, 2019, Izolyator held an excursion lesson for students of High Voltage Engineering and Electrical Physics Department (TEVN) of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute.

National Research University ‘MPEI’ (Moscow Power Engineering Institute) trains the Bachelors, Masters and Specialists (Engineers) in 15 directions and 73 specialties. Moscow Power Engineering Institute is the one from the largest technical universities of Russia. It provides the specialist’s training and scientific research in the field of energetic, electrical engineering, radio electronics, computer engineering. Moscow Power Engineering Institute has the modern educational buildings, the academic and scientific laboratories, the students’ hostels, the powerful experimental facilities, a pilot-plant, an academic-research heat and power plant, an university technical park.

The excursion classes were jointly arranged by TEVN of MPEI and the Izolyator plant, which provided financial support.

The event was attended by more than 30 students of 2 and 3 courses, accompanied by professors of TEVN of MPEI.

The lesson began with a lecture delivered by Vladimir Ustinov, Deputy Quality Director at Izolyator. Students learned about the century-old history of the enterprise, the product range and the latest developments, successful cooperation with the world's largest energy companies and leading manufacturers of power equipment.

In addition, Vladimir Ustinov, being also the Coordinator of CIGRE Study Committee D1 “Materials and emerging test techniques”, introduced students to the main activities of this committee, for which Izolyator is a basic enterprise. The lecturer focused on the benefits of membership in CIGRE for students and young professionals.

In accordance with the purpose of the lesson, Head of the Izolyator Test Center Dmitry Ivanov, Lead Technical Support specialist Viktor Kiryukhin, and Head of the Bureau of Technical Support of Production Artem Mashinistov, conducted an excursion around the enterprise and presented the main technological stages of production and testing of modern high-voltage bushings to students.
