Import substitution is the key topic of the meeting at the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs

On 14 April 2023 the Head of the Izolyator Group Alexander Slavinsky took part in the meeting ‘Import-substituting production and supplies of equipment for the power grid complex in the current economic conditions’, which was held by the Energy Subcommittee of the International Cooperation Committee of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

The International Cooperation Committee of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) carries out its activities in order to establish a constructive dialogue between the business community, state authorities, public organizations and other participants in economic relations on international cooperation issues. The RSPP, established in June 1990, is a non-governmental organization promoting the interests of Russia’s business community. The RSPP was set up to promote Russian business interests in Russia and abroad, to help make Russia more business friendly and attractive to investors, and to maintain the balance of interests of business, government and society. The RSPP represents the interests of all Russian businesses, regardless of their size, sector or location. The RSPP operates in two capacities: as a non-governmental organization, and as a national association of employers. This enables the RSPP to promote the interests of its members most effectively. Today, the RSPP is made up of around 130 sectoral and regional associations of employers.

Meeting ‘Import-substituting production and supplies of equipment for the electric grid complex in the current economic conditions’ of the Energy Subcommittee of the Committee on International Cooperation of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs

Speech by Alexander Slavinsky, Head of Izolyator Group

Key problem, according to Mr. Slavinsky, is that no piece of equipment of high complexity can be manufactured without the use of the best world developments: ‘By limiting yourself only to the capabilities of one company or one country, you can reach an acceptable or high technical level. But the best technical level can only be based on the best world achievements’.

Concluding his speech, Alexander Slavinsky also touched upon the issue of certification procedures and noted that the RSPP is an excellent platform for solving the tasks of that sort: the formation of strategic production facilities under the auspices of the state and the creation of uniform certification rules for everyone.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the electric power industry companies, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Kyrgyz Union of Manufactures and Entrepreneurs, RSPP, Skolkovo Foundation and manufacturing companies.
