CIGRE Winnipeg 2017 International Colloquium & Exhibition
On 6 September – 6 October 2017, Izolyator took part at CIGRE Winnipeg 2017 International Colloquium & Exhibition and HVDC & HVAC Network Technologies for the Future Exhibition in Winnipeg, Canada.
Conseil International des Grands Réseaux Électriques (CIGRE) is the largest international non-profit Association for promoting collaboration with experts from all around the world by sharing knowledge and joining forces to improve electric power systems. Founded in 1921 in France and headquartered in Paris CIGRE is one of the most authoritative and significant international associations which unites scientists and power engineers from all over the world and makes significant impact on the strategy of the electricity industry in many countries. The mission of CIGRE as pertains to ts Charter is to coordinate research, scientific knowledge and practical experience sharing on issues of power networks operation. The issues of design, creation and operation of high-voltage equipment, grids planning and operation, implementation of new technologies for data mining and processing and control systems are in the spotlight. CIGRE activities shape the strategic vision of the power network development needed for selection of energy policy and are closely tied with the vector of scientific and technical progress that defines key directions of integration processes.
Colloquium is unique forum for sharing opinions, learning about new research, discussing future trends, cooperating with leading technical specialists from all over the world.
The Canadian National Committee of CIGRE invited Study Committees A3 High Voltage Equipment, B4 HVDC & Power Electronics and D1 Materials & Emerging Test Techniques to have a regular annual meeting. The event included an international colloquium, exhibition and visits to Canadian power facilities.
Study committee D1 of the Russian National Committee of CIGRE (RNC CIGRE) was represented by Dr. Alexander Slavinsky, Head of SC D1 RNC CIGRE, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Izolyator.
Study Committees of CIGRE held their respective events and meetings during the colloquium.
SC D1 held work group meetings, a poster session and a committee sitting.
During the colloquium, Alexander Slavinsky and Chairman of the Study Committee D1 R. Pitch shared opinions about the committee’s work. Alexander Slavinsky informed R. Pitch about the work of SC D1 section in Russia and achievements of Russian specialists in the committee research programs and offered to have the next colloquium in Moscow.
