Sitting of the Energy Efficiency Committee of the Russian Engineering Union

On May 16, 2019, a sitting of the new committee on development and implementation of energy efficiency and saving technologies issues of the Russian Engineering Union, took place.

Russian Engineering Union all-Russian civic organization represents the interests of over 4 million workers and over 7500 leading machine-building enterprises of the Russian Federation.

The objectives of the Russian Engineering Union:
• promote creation of a competitive, diversified and innovative economy of Russia, based on the domestic machine-building industry;
• join efforts of the Russian machine builders in promotion and protection of interests of the domestic machine-building industry in the state bodies of the Russian Federation, civil society institutions and the global arena;
• orm a strategy of machine-building sector development in Russia, engage in development of mechanisms of active state policy in modernization and development of the national engineering sector on par with the leading industrially developed countries.

The new committee’s objective is implementation of energy saving technologies at engineering companies and development of corresponding products for other industries.

The meeting went with Chairman of Committee on issues of development and implementation of technologies in energy efficiency and power saving of the Russian Engineering Union, head of the Federal Grid Company of the Unified Energy System Andrey Murov presiding.

Executives from over 60 largest energy and engineering companies, representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Russian Federation, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation, Ministry of Economic Development of Russian Federation took part in the sitting of the committee.

Dr. Alexander Slavinsky, Chief Executive Officer of Zavod ‘Izolyator’ LLC took part in the work of the sitting.

The audience discussed priority objectives to tap the energy efficiency potential in machine-building.

Increasing the energy efficiency level is a key objective for the machine-building sector. The experts marked that the energy security doctrine was approved by the President’s decree this week. It points out the inefficient utilization of energy resources as one of the risks.

The large attention given to the work of the new committee by the expert community will help to make it a successful platform for discussion and generation of projects as well as develop energy efficiency not only at the sector enterprises but to stimulate consumers to save.
