Meeting of CIGRE Russian Study Committee D1

On 27 February 2019, a meeting of the CIGRE Russian Study Committee D1 “Materials and Emerging Test Techniques” of the Russian National Committee of CIGRE took place.

The CIGRE Russian Study Committee D1 “Materials and Emerging Test Techniques” was created on the basis of Izolyator company (Massa LLC) as a regular collegial body reporting to the Technical Committee of the Russian National Committee of CIGRE (RNC CIGRE). Izolyator company received a status of the Leading scientific and technical partner to RNC CIGRE. The agreement was concluded for the period of five years from 11 February 2016 till 10 February 2021. Dr. Alexander Slavinsky, CIGRE Study Committee D1 Regular Member, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Izolyator headed the CIGRE Russian Study Committee D1. The CIGRE Russian Study Committee D1 deals with theoretic research in electric insulating materials application in high-voltage equipment.

The meeting was chaired by the Head of CIGRE Russian Study Committee D1, CIGRE Study Committee D1 Regular Member, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Izolyator, Alexander Slavinsky, EngD.

The meeting went as a video conference to discuss issues with all the members of the committee from different cities of Russia, taking decision in a real time mode.

Among the issues of the agenda there were:

- work plan of CIGRE Russian Study Committee D1 for 2019.

- preparation to the 48th CIGRE Session,

- preparation to the RNC CIGRE conference to summarize the results of the 47th CIGRE Session,

- information about CIGRE Russian Study Committee D1 representatives’ participation in work groups of the study committee SC D1, open for joining,

- suggestions for interaction of CIGRE Russian Study Committee D1 representatives with young specialists, students and PhD students,

- assessment of CIGRE Russian Study Committee D1 results in 2018,

- preparation to the 2023 colloquium together with the National study committees A1, A3 and B3 RNC CIGRE.

In closing remarks, Alexander Slavinsky thanked the audience for a fruitful work and expressed confidence in taking the work of CIGRE Russian Study Committee D1 to a whole new level, joining forces. The results would be used in research activities of Russian specialists under the topics of study committee D1 RNC CIGRE.
