Visit of Top Management of Saudi Arabian Companies
On 8–9 October 2019, management representatives of Saudi Arabian companies paid a visit to Izolyator plant.
The purpose of the visit is to discuss long-term cooperation in high-voltage insulation equipment deliveries to Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Arabian companies were represented by:
Managing Director of Electrical Industries Company Tariq Mohammad Al Tahini,
CEO of Saudi Power transformers Company Hosam A. Al-Sheikh,
Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority Director of International Office — Russia Abdulrahman D. AlMutlak.
Electrical Industries Company (EIC) is a holding company that provides a diversified electrical products and services to customers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
Company was established with the merging of the leading manufacturers of electrical products in pursuit of a common goal; to satisfy growing demand of electrical equipment in the Kingdom.
The Saudi Power transformers Company Ltd. (SPTC) is the leading power transformer manufacturing company in Saudi Arabia and the GCC. It was established in 2010 as a Joint venture between Saudi Transformers Co. Ltd. (51 %) and CG Power Systems-Belgium (49 %).
The factory is under the licensing agreement from CG Power Systems-Belgium to use Pauwels technology. More than 600 Pauwels’ Power Transformers are currently in use throughout Saudi Arabia up to 500 MVA.
Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) is an organization to effect control over investment activities in Saudi Arabia, including foreign investment.
SAGIA as a regulatory authority and licensor attracts direct finance and technology investments, promoting interests of foreign companies and providing comfortable conditions for doing business in the country.

Before sitting at the negotiating table, the guests got acquainted with the history of the establishment and development of the enterprise, which is presented in the Izolyator corporate museum.

At the beginning of the talks, the parties exchanged experience on the world arena and outlined common markets for products promotion.
Further, the principal technical and operational differences of high-voltage bushings with solid internal RIP insulation from analogues of other designs were discussed, as well as the decisive advantages that determine the feasibility of their use in power systems around the world.

The EIC Managing Director expressed a desire to develop cooperation with the Izolyator plant within the framework of the national program Saudi Vision 2030.
General Director of SPTC expressed readiness to long-term cooperation as it would lead to increased purchase volumes of transformers and high-voltage bushings on the territory of the Kingdom.

At the end of the talks, a tour of the production took place, where the guests were introduced to the full technological cycle of manufacturing of high-voltage bushings for various applications.

Yaroslav Sedov commented on the outcome of the visit: “First of all, I want to thank our Saudi partners from EIC, SPTC and SAGIA for their visit to the Izolyator plant in Russia.
All the events of the visit went productively, in a positive manner and fully consistent with the agenda. Participants spoke openly on the main trends and problems in the development of the world electric power industry, put forward proposals for establishing and building international cooperation.
Moreover, one of the topics of discussion was the rapidly developing relations between our countries at the political level, which has a fruitful effect on business projects.
An important addition to the negotiations was an informal meeting on the historical and cultural traditions of Saudi Arabia and Russia.
As a result, the parties reached a number of arrangements that significantly exceeded all expectations.”
