Report at the seminar of the Russian Academy of Railways

On 27 May 2022, Izolyator Corporate University presented a report within the framework of the remote seminar ‘AC and DC Traction Substations’ of the Russian Academy of Railways.

The Russian Academy of Railways (RAR) carries out activities for the implementation of programs of additional professional education (advanced training and professional retraining) for employees of all types of transport and other sectors of the economy of Russia, CIS countries and rest of the world. The content of training courses is developed on the basis of the study of the needs of transport organizations and other sectors of economy, taking into account the results of advanced scientific research and expert surveys of managers and leading experts. The Russian Academy of Railways is a subdivision of the Russian University of Transport.

The seminar was held for traction substations managers and specialists of the Russian Railways.

Izolyator Corporate University was represented at the seminar by Lead Technical Support Specialist of the Izolyator Group Viktor Kiryukhin with a report ‘Izolyator High-Voltage Bushings’.

Within that business line of the Izolyator Group, the following topics were covered: the history of the Izolyator plant and the stages of development of high-voltage insulation equipment, the classification of high-voltage bushings, types of internal and external insulation, the design of bushings and the purpose of the main elements, the results of research and testing of especially moisture resistant RIN insulation, areas and prospects for the use of high-voltage bushings with RIN insulation.

At the same time, special attention was paid to the design and operation features of the bushings used at the traction substations of the Russian Railways.

The speaker also touched upon other areas of activity and relevant divisions of the Izolyator Group, including the presentation of the corporate university, the range of its educational programs and the successes achieved.
