For the first time, the Izolyator high-voltage RIP bushing has been approved for use in Brazilian power facilities

From April 24 to May 9, 2023, tests took place in Brazil, according to the results of which the Izolyator high-voltage RIP bushing was first approved by Eletrobras Cepel state research center for use at power facilities of the National Interconnected System (Sistema Interligado Nacional).

Type tests of the 600 kV bushing intended for Teles Pires Transmission power line were conducted in the laboratory of Eletrobras Cepel research center in Nova Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro State, with the participation of TDM Service & Solution engineering company — a partner of Izolyator Group.

Eletrobras Cepel (Centro de Pesquisas de Energia Elétrica) is the Brazilian state electrical energy research center. The Center is engaged in experimental research, development and testing of technical solutions for the development of the national electrical engineering and power industries. The head office of Eletrobras Cepel is located in Rio de Janeiro.

Teles Pires Transmission (TPLT) is a 500 kV line for the transmission of electricity from hydroelectric power plants, including the Teles Pires power plant in the central region of Brazil (Mato Grosso state), to the southeast of the country and part of the National Interconnected System (Sistema Interligado Nacional). Construction, operation and maintenance of power facilities of the line are carried out by specially created companies Guaraciaba Transmissora de Energia (TP Sul) S.A. and Matrinchã Transmissora de Energia (TP Norte) S.A. Both companies are controlled by the State Grid Brazil Holding, the Brazilian branch of the State Grid Corporation of China, and Companhia Paranaense de Energia, a Brazilian utility the state of Parana.

TDM Service & Solutions is a Brazilian engineering company active in the electricity sector. The company provides services for installation, commissioning, maintenance, diagnostics and overhaul of transformer equipment at medium and high voltage substations. TDM Service & Solutions is also represented in other Latin and North American countries.

The tests were conducted with the participation of a representative of Izolyator Group.

The release of this high-voltage bushing for testing was a natural result of the extensive prep work that the Izolyator Group carried out with Brazilian partners and, first of all, with TDM Service & Solution.

The event came as an important step towards the development of Russian-Brazilian cooperation in such key sectors as electrical engineering and power industry.

The attention that the leadership and relevant industry organizations of Brazil pay to large projects to modernize and develop the country's power grid infrastructure gives that fact an even larger weight. According to the current ten-year plan for the development of the power sector (Plano Decenal de Expansão de Energia), 6.122 kilometers of power transmission lines and substations with a total transformer capacity of 400 MVA are planned for erection in the near future.
