1920xx. State Commission for Electrification of Russia (GOELRO)

In 1920, the State Commission for Electrification of Russia (GOELRO) prepared a plan for fundamental reconstruction of the national economy based on electrification. In this connection, Izolyator Plant faced a real challenge of quick arrangement of porcelain insulator manufacturing for high voltage power lines.

In the course of this process, in 1922-1924 the insulator design bureau of the plant developed the first linear insulator structures, and in 1927, the plant started suspended insulator manufacturing. In a decade between 1919 and 1929, the output increased almost 100 times.
