Meeting of the Leading Partners to RNC CIGRE

On 15 December 2017, Izolyator joined the meeting of the leading science and technology partners to the Russian national committee of CIGRE at the head office of FGC UES.

Russian National Committee of International Council on Large Electric Systems (RNC CIGRE) as a legal entity was established in 2003. At present the Committee counts over 60 collective and over 460 individual members. RNC CIGRE aims to represent the national interests at CIGRE and to assist in exchanging technical knowledge, experience and feedback in various fields of CIGRE activity for all its members. The most important objective of the committee is attraction of the best Russian power industry companies to scientific and technical cooperation as research base organizations for RNC CIGRE Study Committees.

The management of the research base companies of RNC CIGRE organization took part in the meeting: B. Ayuev, Chairman of the Board of the System operator of the Unified Energy System, N. Rogalev, President of the National research university MPEI, Yu. Sharov, Head of Engineering at Inter RAO Group, A. Slavinsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Izolyator, Head of SC D1 RNC CIGRE and others including representatives of this year’s new partners Vnesheconombank and Kazakhstan Company on Grid Operation (KEGOC).

Russia entered the first position in Europe and fifth in the world by the quantity of the members of the National committee of CIGRE. In 2017, the Russian division of the international organization (RNC CIGRE) held conferences, colloquia, round-tables, setting a strategic goal of creation of a regional association of the organization in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union member countries among others.

The Head of FGC UES, RNC CIGRE Chairman Andrey Murov, summarized the results of 2017. As A. Murov, emphasized, the common strategic objective is creation of a supranational regional association within CIGRE with participation of Russia’s partners in EEU.

Alexander Slavinsky in his report gave a detailed account of the activities of the Study Committee D1 on RNC CIGRE popularization in 2017 and spoke about the key results of the international cooperation, namely experience sharing with the largest power grid companies of Vietnam and India and a direct export support of Russian industrial manufacturers. The report included a video about the Russia – India power industry workshop, which wen in India and was organized with support from the Indian state power corporation Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and FGC UES of Russia.

Among the key events of RNC CIGRE are Colloquium on information systems and telecommunications with participation of the General Secretary of CIGRE Philip Adam and International Conference “Digital Substation”, held jointly with the National committee of CIGRE of the Netherlands. The activities also included the Summary Conference of the 46th CIGRE Session in Paris, round-table “Power industry professions of the future” during International Moscow Education Salon and dozens of internal meetings and event including the youth section.

The meeting named priorities for 2018: preparation of Russia’s participation in the 47th CIGRE Session, research activities in study committees of RNC CIGRE and making a stronger presence in international workgroups.
