Environmental management: development of a separate waste storage system

On 25 May 2020, in accordance with the plan for achieving environmental management goals, Izolyator began separate storage of plastic, paper and glass waste.

The ISO 14001 Environmental Management System operates and developing at Izolyator as part of the Integrated Management System of Quality, Environment, Occupational Health and Safety.

The main objective of the company in the field of environmental protection is the consistent reduction of the negative impact of the enterprise on the environment.

The ‘Instruction for the management of plastic, paper and glass wastes’ was put into effect, which contains the basic requirements for the treatment of wastes of those materials. The document was prepared on the basis of laws, government orders and state standards of the Russian Federation governing environmental and resource-saving activities.

The introduction of separate accumulation of plastic, paper and glass waste is necessitated by their attribution to secondary material resources and subsequent disposal, as well as the prohibition of landfill.

Izolyator implemented a four-container system for the separate collection of waste of those types (the fourth type is unsorted waste).

Labeled containers for the primary accumulation of waste are located on the territory of the enterprise in strict accordance with the approved scheme.
