The First Floating Thermal Nuclear Power Plant in Russia Was Launched
On 19 December 2019, the first floating thermal nuclear power plant in Russia, part of Rosenergoatom, was commissioned in the port of Pevek on the Chukotka Peninsula.
The Rosenergoatom main occupation is generation of electrical and thermal energy at its nuclear plants, as well as management of nuclear plants, sources of radiation, nuclear material and radioactive substance storage sites pursuant to the procedure set forth by the legislation of the Russian Federation. The structure of Rosenergoatom includes all 10 nuclear power plants of Russia, which have the status of branches of the REA, and companies that provide activities generating company.
The Floating Thermal Nuclear Power Plant (FTNPP) is the lead project for the 20870 series of low-power mobile transportable power units. The FTNPP consists of the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit (FPU) and coastal infrastructure.

There are 126 kV Izolyator wall bushings successfully operating at the 110/10 kV Beregovaya substation of Chukotenergo, part of the FTNPP coastal infrastructure.

The onshore facilities of the FTNPP are designed to receive and distribute electricity and hot water supplied from the FPU to infrastructure facilities of the Chukotka Autonomous District.
