Talks with British generating company ContourGlobal PLC

On 20 July 2021, a video conference took place between Izolyator and the British generating company ContourGlobal PLC.

ContourGlobal PLC is a UK-based generating company that owns and operates power plants with a total capacity of 4,845 MW, operating in 18 countries on three continents. The Renewable Energy Segment (Renewable Generation Group) uses hydro, solar, wind and biogas to generate 1,808 MW of electricity. The Thermal Energy Segment (Thermal Generation Group) uses gas, coal and oil as fuels to generate 2,509 MW of electricity.

The two companies established contacts and engaged in a preliminary study of the possibilities of using Izolyator high-voltage bushings on the power equipment of solar power plants of ContourGlobal PLC in Spain.

ContourGlobal PLC owns five solar power plants in the southwest Spain with a total capacity of 250 MW (50 MW each).

ContourGlobal PLC already has a positive experience of replacing obsolete bushings with their modern counterparts manufactured by Izolyator plant. 24, 126 and 252 kV bushings with internal RIP insulation were purchased by the transformer plant of the Portuguese holding Efacec Power Solutions and supplied to the Shamb HPP of the Vorotan Cascade of Hydroelectric Power Stations in Armenia (after its acquisition it was renamed for ContourGlobal Hydro Cascade). The 252 kV bushings have been installed and are successfully operating on the transformer, the installation of the 24 and 126 kV bushings is scheduled for the next planned shutdown of the station's power equipment.
