Following the opening ceremony, the International Conference ‘High-voltage equipment — 125 years of creation’ began its work, which became the first event of the Representative Office and the start of its activities.

In accordance with the conference program, Alexander Slavinsky made a report specially prepared for the event on the repositioning of the Izolyator brand as a result of production diversification and expansion of its presence in the global electrical market.

A brief excursion into the centuries-old history of the Izolyator brand

The renewed brand is positioned as an international multi-product industrial group of companies with a wide range of capabilities, including the production of electrical products, scientific, technical and educational activities, as well as full support of engineering projects.

Alexander Slavinsky presented the current organizational structure of the Izolyator Group and the tasks solved by each of its structural divisions.

In addition, the report covered the Group's product range, target sales markets in Russia, experience and key achievements of international cooperation, participation in the work of the world's leading scientific and technical organizations and other activities of the Izolyator Group.

Special attention was paid to the creation and launch of the Massa Izolyator Mehru Pvt. Ltd. a Russian-Indian Joint Venture, as a successfully implemented project on the territory of another country.

Another important focus of the report was the educational aspect, as the most important factor in a systematic approach to strategic planning for the development of such science-intensive industries as modern electrical engineering and energy.

Dr. Alexander Slavinsky heads the Department of Physics and Technologies of Electrical Materials and Components of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electrification of the National Research University ‘Moscow Power Engineering Institute’ — one of the largest technical universities in Russia. He spoke about the activities of the department and invited everyone to cooperate in training highly qualified personnel for the developing electric power complex of Uzbekistan.

The relevance of this initiative is confirmed by the Agreement between the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan on cooperation in the field of education — one of the documents signed on the sidelines of the Moscow meeting of the presidents of Russia and Uzbekistan.

Summing up the results of the conference, Alexander Slavinsky stressed that the opening of a representative office in Uzbekistan is very important. The Central Asian region has an impressive potential for economic development and, in particular, large-scale programs for the modernization of the energy sector are planned and implemented here. It opens up broad prospects for international cooperation and creates the most favorable preconditions for effective interaction of the Representative Office with partners both in Uzbekistan itself and in the other countries of the Central Asia.

The discussion of the significant event also continued on the sidelines of the conference.

The Izolyator plant's cooperation with the power engineers of Uzbekistan has a long history, dating back to the formation of the republic's electric power complex and the implementation of the plan of the State Commission on Electrification of Russia (GOELRO). The plant, along with other industrial enterprises, took an active part in equipping the intensively building generating and power grid capacities of the emerging industry with equipment.

This cooperation with the leading Uzbek enterprises of the electric power sector and heavy industry has never been interrupted; it continues actively today. Over the past five years alone, about 500 Izolyator bushings have been supplied to the republic in the voltages from 126 to 252 kV. At the same time, various forms of interaction are practiced: both meetings at the management level and regular seminars for specialists in the operation of power equipment, and mutual visits in order to get acquainted with production technology.

Today, Russia and Uzbekistan, being strategic partners, continue to increase the pace of implementation of joint projects.

There is a Joint Commission at the level of the heads of government of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Regular meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan are held.

In November of this year, the II Forum of interregional cooperation between the Russia and Uzbekistan with the participation of heads of state was held in Moscow.

On the sidelines of the event, the heads of the administrations of the regions of Russia and Uzbekistan held a number of bilateral meetings and negotiations, during which agreements were reached on the implementation of specific projects and initiatives. Energy has become one of the industries for which such agreements have been reached.
