Power Grids International Forum — PGIF 2022

From 22 to 25 March 2022, representatives of the Izolyator Group visited the Power Grids International Forum in Moscow.

The Power Grids International Forum (PGIF) is a large-scale event in the electric power industry, which has become a platform for discussing and solving priority tasks related to the digital transformation of the electric grid complex. The forum has established itself as a top-level platform for communication between representatives of federal and regional authorities, heads of the largest networking and generating companies, equipment manufacturers, scientific organizations and associations, Russian and foreign experts, making it possible to discuss priority issues of energy infrastructure transformation by introducing new digital technologies and platform solutions. The forum aims to unite the efforts of leading industry professionals to create a digital grid infrastructure. Forum task: search for modern technological solutions for network digitalization and their further implementation, discussion of issues of promising cooperation on the implementation of digital network projects, identification of key areas of import substitution, development of standard package solutions for ‘intellectualization’ and informatization of the industry. The Power Grids International Forum is held annually.

The business program of the forum was devoted to current issues of the electric power industry: the role of regions in the development of the industry, import substitution and achieving the goals of technological sovereignty, changing the model of relations between suppliers and consumers in the new economic paradigm, energy saving and energy efficiency, accounting for energy resources, unlocking the potential of renewable energy sources in Russia.

The meeting participants discussed the key trends and challenges that the industry has to face in the process of transformation and transition to a low-carbon basis in the energy sector. This, in particular, is a rethinking of the role of regions in the long and medium term prospect of the industry development and, of course, the need to take into account new realities in the course of solving these and other issues.

Within the framework of the forum, an exposition of more than 6,000 square meters worked, with over 200 companies participating — manufacturers of goods and services for the power grid complex. The focus of the exhibition exposition is the development, creation and operation of high-voltage equipment, the introduction of new technologies for collecting and processing information, and improving control systems.
