XIII International Scientific and Technical Conference ‘Electric Power Industry through the Eyes of the Youth’

From October 24 to 26, 2023, the Izolyator Group took part in the XIII International Scientific and Technical Conference ‘Electric Power Industry through the Eyes of the Youth’, which was held at the Siberian Federal University in Krasnoyarsk.

The International Scientific and Technical Conference ‘Electric Power Industry through the Eyes of the Youth’ is held with the aim of developing the scientific and creative potential of young researchers in electrical engineering, intensifying the process of exchanging new ideas and developments, stimulating creative thinking among young people, and forming a talent pool for Russian electric power companies. This is an annual conference held at one of the leading Russian technical universities providing training in electrical power and electrical engineering.

Within the research area (conference section) ‘Operating modes and equipment of electrical networks and systems’ Design Engineer of the R&D Center of the Izolyator-VV Production Complex, postgraduate student of the Department of Physics and Technologies of Electrical Materials and Components of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electrification of the National Research University ‘Moscow Power Engineering Institute’ (IEEE MPEI) Artem Semenov made a presentation on ‘Development of a 1150 kV high-voltage bushing with internal RIP-insulation’.

At the end of the conference in that research area, the report was awarded the third place in the ‘Young Specialist’ nomination, and its author was awarded a third-degree diploma.

Head of the Izolyator Group, Head of the Department of Physics and Technologies of Electrical Materials and Components of the IEEE MPEI Dr. Alexander Slavinsky also took part in the conference as a permanent member of the conference program committee.

The functions of the program committee are to determine research areas, formulate a program and evaluate the presentations of conference participants.

The organizers, in addition to the host university, were the System Operator of the United Power System JSC, the Rosseti Group, the Russian National Committee of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (RNC CIGRE) and the Charitable Foundation for Educational Projects ‘Reliable Shift’.

The conference went with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

XIII International Scientific and Technical Conference ‘Electric Power Industry through the Eyes of the Youth’ at the Siberian Federal University in Krasnoyarsk

On the basis of the Izolyator-VV Production Complex, the leading scientific and technical partner of RNC CIGRE, the CIGRE National Study Committee D1 Materials and Emerging Test Techniques operates.

The D1 committee is headed by Alexander Slavinsky.

In total, 150 young industry representatives took part in the XIII International Scientific and Technical Conference ‘Electric Power Industry through the Eyes of the Youth’ — specialists from 21 Russian energy companies, students, graduate students and young scientists from 36 Russian and foreign universities.

Conference audience

In seven thematic sections, participants presented reports on current topics of the functioning and development of the electric power industry. The reports were reviewed by 68 leading industry experts and renowned scientists.
